We are an application, literate site. It is an unstable spirit world, inhabited by mortal humans and all manner of spirit beings. A place where the realms of imagination bleed through easily, and characters of fiction are so commonly seen (if even for a short time) that an agency known as The Department of Outworlder Affairs has been formed to assist them. First come, first serve. Please make sure that you register with your character's first and last name, please.

Vampires. Immortal creatures who survive by feeding on the blood of the living.
Usually former humans, they've been transformed into the eternal undead.
A vampire is not a monster simply because it is a vampire. They retain the same personality they had in life- the same likes and dislikes, the same morals. But many become monstrous in adjusting to a world where they now feed upon the people they once were.
While the origin of the vampires is shrouded in mystery and the truth known only to a few of the eldest and most powerful, they have been around for millennia. It's generally accepted that for as long as there have been humans, there have been vampires preying on them.
In becoming a vampire, a person stops aging and gains enhanced strength, speed, reflexes, senses, and healing.
In exchange for this they live on a diet of human blood, have the ambient body temperature of a corpse, cannot change physically in any meaningful way, cannot produce living offspring except with great difficulty, are harmed by the presence of articles of true faith (holy water, blessed items, annointing oils) of almost any religion, are weak against silver, and can not expose themselves to sunlight.
Vampire society is divided in two ways: by bloodline and by coven. It is led by a council of elder vampires from each of the recognized bloodlines, who meet regularly to discuss matters which effect all vampires.
Covens form the active core of vampire society. The number of covens in a given city varies, generally determined by the size of the city, the number of vampires the human population can easily support, and the amount of support each prospective coven leader has. Covens are autonomous, setting the laws of the area they control without regard to the laws of other populations- with the exception of those few laws handed down by the council of elders and followed by all vampire society.
